Obesity is now recognized as a major health problem for most Americans. According to recent statistics, the most problematic obesity states in America are Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Alabama. The southern states of America are considered as the fattest while as some states in the north east and west are considered as slimmest.

In the southern states, almost one in every three adults is obese and has a BMI equal to 30 more. The slimmest states include Maine, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey in the north-east and California, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico in the west. But the Colorado is considered as the slimmest state in the whole Union.
