Sun beds shown to double risk of skin cancer

Whilst its little secret that sun beds are bad for our skin, researchers are now suggesting that using indoor tanning equipment doubles the risk of skin cancer. With the summer practically here, the need to bronze up ready for the beach can prove too much of a temptation for people to tan safely and many will do it excessively.

Experts strongly believe that people who use tanning devices run a serious risk of suffering with skin cancer in later life and a conclusive study has shown that frequent users who partook in more than 100 sessions or 50 hours of indoor tanning over 10 years, were at 2.5 times the risk of those who tanned naturally or with creams.
