How do I apply/use Renova?
It is important that for the very first time you use Renova, you should use a much smaller dose than suggested to establish whether you are able to tolerate the medication. Renova should be applied once a day at nighttime. For the first time, apply a small amount (roughly a pea-sized amount) onto the end of your finger and start applying to the forehead, gradually spreading all over the face. If you are comfortable with the medication then you may double the quantity.
Renova Tretinoin Cream should be applied to an area of skin with a gentle, circular rubbing motion using the tips of two fingers. Start by applying the prescribed amount on the forehead and on the two cheeks, paying special attention as not to rub Renova into the eyes and lips. When you wake up, it is advised that you wash your face with face with a soap/mild scrub that you are comfortable with. Most importantly, you should always follow the directions given for using Renova as prescribed for you and consult your doctor before making any changes to the way you take the medication.
What if I miss a dose of Renova?
For the best results, it is important that Renova is taken at the same time everyday, on a regular basis. If you miss a dose of Renova, then you should apply the cream as soon as you remember. If however it is almost time for you to take your next scheduled dose, then you must skip the forgotten dose and stick to the regular schedule. Under no circumstances should you take a double dose of Renova.
What are the side effects of Renova?
Renova, like all prescription medication, can have possible side effects which will vary from person to person. Some common side effects that are likely to disappear as your body becomes used to the medication are as follows:
- Peeling of the skin
- Redness or dryness of the skin
- Mild burning or stinging sensations
You should speak to your doctor as soon as any side effects of Renova start to become particularly bothersome or severe.
When will I see the benefits of Renova?
You should start to see the effects of Renova within the first 2 months of using the treatment. During this time you will notice a softer and smoother texture to your skin. Any side effects experienced are usually mild and disappear as you adjust to the cream. Renova’s best effects are seen after 6 months; wrinkles will be less visible and your skin will appear cleaner and softer. Renova cream should be used as an ongoing treatment as part of daily skin care regime for the effects to stay apparent.
