Retin-A is an acne treatment cream that contains the active ingredient Tretinoin. Tretinoin is a derivative of vitamin A, which is produced naturally by the body and is known to help neutralize harmful elements in our skin.
Retin-A is also the only topical treatment cream that helps to reduce wrinkles, as well as reducing the symptoms of acne, blackheads and whiteheads. Many Americans suffering from acne swear by Retin-A gel as it offers added benefits not seen with other treatments. It can help to reduce the look of dark spots and discoloration usually found after acne breakouts.

How does Retin-A work?
Retin-A cream works by increasing the cell turnover on the areas of the skin applied, hence extracting plugged dirt and materials that your body alone would not manage to remove. Retin-A also helps to stop new sebaceous skin material (also known as comedones) from forming.
How do I apply/use Retin-A?
Retin-A cream should be applied at night in a thin layer. In the morning you should wash your face with a facial scrub to help reduce any flaking. A moisturizer will also help to reduce any possible dryness/flaking. A common side effect of Retin-A is increased sensitivity to light, so a moisturizer that contains sunscreen is also advised.
When will I see the benefits of Retin-A?
Retin-A cream is a very effective cream for treating acne, whiteheads and blackheads; however it should be noted that this medication will not work overnight. It is recommended that you use the treatment for at least 6-9 weeks, by which time you should start to see a noticeable improvement.
Retin-A Micro Gel must be used for at least 6 months before a difference in the appearance of wrinkles will be seen. The manufacturer recommends that it be used for a year to see the very best benefits.
